Through our #writeforthesilent Project, we’re collecting and publishing stories from our Writing for the Soul Workshop™ participants and from the young and old from  around the world for our next release: Pieces of Me: The Bully Diaries Vol. II.

Our Writing for the Soul Workshop™ philosophy is based on the fact that powerful emotions have a powerful voice; and that when we get what is on the inside out, we take control of those feelings. Self-confidence is one of the best defenses against bullying. Our community partnership empowers students standing against bullying with real resources to:

1. become published authors

2. be a voice for the silent

3. earn commission on book sales

4. save for college, or buy a car and so much more.

Many of our Writing for the Soul Workshop™ participants have shared their stories of bullying. Through our experience, we understand how sharing our stories’ helps the healing process.  Stand for the Silent is an important and impactful way for our communities to impact bullying. To show our support a portion of all book sales go back to Stand for the Silent.

The Bully Diaries Volume I was released on July 18th, 2014 and has literally prevented some of it’s readers from taking their own life here in the US and Perth, Australia. Here’s a sample story from The Bully Diaries:

We Will Always Remember by Liz & Brad De Vries

In Loving Memory of Brianna De Vries

There’s nothing quite like the pain of losing a child. Brianna was a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a niece, a cousin and a best friend. You never quite grasp the concept that you’ll never see her again. It never sinks in that you’ll never hear her laugh, talk, get married, have children and all the other things life has to offer. It is hard to accept that all we have left are photos and memories.

Brianna was only 14 when she took her own life. She was special, important and loved. Brianna was passionate about sports, and talented. She loved to surf, she adored animals and one of her favorite days of the year was Australia Day.

Brianna loved to show that she was proud of who she was, and she was confident of who she was. We remember all the things that made her who she was …her smile, and her tears. But 9 months of physical and mental abuse from peers was too much, and finally it destroyed that confidence. Now those memories are all that are left.

Sometimes they make us all smile, but more often than not, they are bitter reminders of a beautiful soul that we will never see again. She had so much to offer, so many things to experience.

We are forever changed for having had her in our life. She left behind two sisters and two brothers (one brother who will never get to meet her) who miss her with all their hearts, but who will always remember her and live for her.

Buy NowChances are that you experienced bullying in your life.  Whether your experience was as a victim, a bystander, or the bully, if you search your memories, you will probably find instances when bullying was a part of your life.  For many of us, these experiences have defined us and shaped us.  Our experiences made us stronger, and helped us become who we are today.

When you are being bullied, it is hard to think about much more than getting through today. For others, there is no today.  Their experience being bullied was too overwhelming, and drove them to a devastating and permanent solution to the temporary pain.
