“I thought you guys was some big group that just does events in small towns like Marianna for attention. My attitude was that they are just gonna run us through with the, ‘you can be anything speech’ and tell us some sappy story of someone else. WRONG!!!! Writing for the Soul Workshop brought life back into my passion for words and my outlook on my life. Thank you!” -Cam, 17

Writing for the Soul Workshop™ is a mentoring program that invokes a passion for writing, resources for healing, and skills for a lifetime while tackling problems like mental, social, financial and educational inequity.

The Mentoring Connector is the only national database of mentoring programs. Writing for the Soul Workshop™ is listed in this database. The Mentoring Connector is a free service that helps quality youth mentoring programs across the country recruit more local volunteers. Each year, potential volunteers looking for mentoring opportunities do more than 80,000 searches in this system. The NBA, the White House’s My Brother’s Keeper initiative, and others use this database to recruit volunteer mentors.

Our core program philosophy is based on the fact that powerful emotions have a powerful voice; and that when we get what’s on the inside out, we make amazing breakthroughs in gaining control of those feelings.

We all have a story to tell. What’s your story?
